Eyeglass Lenses

Our office offers an array of eyeglass lenses to meet individual vision requirements.  Some of the available lenses are:

  • High Index Lenses that are thinner and lighter than ordinary lenses.  These lenses have more precise optics than the standard lens.
  • Multifocal Lenses correct for near and distance vision (bifocal) or near, intermediate, and distance vision (trifocal).  The better option is almost always...
  • Progressive Lenses that correct for near, intermediate, and distance vision without the lines of a bifocal or trifocal lens.
  • Transition Lenses that are clear indoors, but darken automatically when you go outdoors.
  • Polycarbonate Lenses are a standard choice for children because of their impact resistance and lightweight.
  • Trivex Lenses are an upgrade to Polycarbonate Lenses; they are lighter and thinner.
  • Polorized Lenses that reduce glare and provide protection from harmful UV rays.

We stock a variety of frame styles for men, women, teens, and children.  They are available in a number of styles from fashion-forward designer frames to more tradtional styles.  Materials include strong and lightweight plastic and metal alloys such as titanium.

Your Healthy Eyes - Anti-Reflective Lenses

Wearers of prescription glasses and sunglasses commonly encounter glare and annoying reflections caused by light bouncing off their lenses. This glare makes it more difficult to see, especially at night. Anti-reflective lenses reduce these reflections allowing more light to pass through to your eyes.

Anti-reflective (AR) lenses have a very hard thin film that is layered onto the lens, similar to a scratch-resistant coating.
AR lenses reduce glare and reflections on the lenses making it easier to see and be seen, since distracting reflections are removed.

AR lenses can be beneficial to night driving. They can minimize reflections and glare from headlights and street lights that could be dangerous while driving.

When working in front of a computer monitor using ordinary lenses, reflections can tire your eyes and decrease visual clarity. This may cause blurry vision, irritation and dry eyes. Using AR lenses can reduce eyestrain, allowing for greater comfort over extended periods of time in front of the monitor.

AR lenses are also more appealing cosmetically. The distracting reflections are reduced, allowing others to see your eyes clearly- improving the appearance of your eyewear.

AR lenses are easier to care for today than ever before. Your AR lenses have the newest in thin-film technologies available that keeps your lenses cleaner longer and are less likely to smudge. This high-tech process makes your lenses more durable than previous AR lenses and provides greater scratch-resistance as well.

All lens surfaces naturally reflect light and this reflection can prevent between 7-14 percent of the light needed for optimal vision. Wearing non-AR lenses is like trying to read a book in a dimly lit room. Since AR lenses allow more light to reach your eyes by reducing reflections, it’s like turning up the room lights, making it easier to see.
